What's with the sudden hate for Ban..? Ban's issue isn't with Meliodas killing, it's with Meliodas taking some sort of sick, twisted pleasure in it. He's likely afraid that he might lose the last person who was ever close to him (well, besides Jericho maybe), it's not like he directly blamed Meliodas for anything either. Mel is losing part of himself here, he said he couldn't tell what Ban was thinking. That could literally go anywhere, he might not be able to look Ban in the eyes after what he did, Ban might've simply been completely expressionless, Ban himself might've avoided direct eye contact and so on...
Meliodas is losing his empathy and he literally can't tell what others are thinking now. For all we know Ban could've tried to cheer Mel up with a smile. Mel, and by proxy we as readers, didn't see Ban's face at all. It's nigh impossible to say what that exchange was supposed to imply without more information right now. And people getting on Merlin because she doesn't want to confront Meliodas in this situation is even sillier. She's known to be kinda passive, of course she would observe the whole situation before she acts and on top of that she'd known Mel the longest so maybe she's not doing anything out of respect and/or because she knows how he feels right now. A lot of this chapter was setup. The holy knights are going to be even more divided with the Pleiades' anger towards Dreyfus and Hendy, the sins are hardly a group at this point, Meliodas is scared of himself more than ever before in the series and we still don't know what the deal with Gowther is and how that stuff is gonna develop. These kinda slow chapters are really hard to judge before you know the full picture (in my opinion, anyway), we'll just have to wait for some answers...literally, considering the next chapter's title.
